Dual Enrollment

Minutemen Families,

Part time dual enrollment is an option for any student with a 3.0 cumulative, unweighted grade point average starting in the fall semester of tenth grade. To be eligible, students must also have “college ready” scores in reading and writing on an approved standardized test. If your student is considering taking a dual enrollment course next year, they must complete the application and enrollment steps by the deadlines listed below.

Please reach out to your student’s counselor as soon as possible to discuss if dual enrollment makes sense for your academic plan.

Application and Enrollment Procedures for Part Time Dual Enrollment: Steps one and two can be done at the same time.

1. Complete the online Eastern Florida Admissions Application at https://www.easternflorida.edu/ Simply click the green “Apply” Button. Students should use their own private email address when completing the application.

2. Schedule and Take the PERT: If you don’t have college ready scores in reading or writing you need to schedule to take the Postsecondary Readiness Test at EFSC now. Schedule your PERT test at the nearest EFSC campus by completing the online scheduling application at https://www.easternflorida.edu/testing/appointments/ After testing bring your score report to attendance and we will mark your time off as a field trip.

3. Submit College Ready Test Scores to EFSC: You must send official score reports from SAT, ACT, CLT, or PSAT to EFSC showing college readiness scores in reading and writing. To see a list of the tests and scores used go to https://www.easternflorida.edu/testing/placement-testing/assessment-scores.php

4. Complete the online Dual Enrollment Orientation in your MY EFSC account: About 7-10 days after submitting your admissions application you will receive a detailed email to the email address with information on how to log in and complete your orientation.

5. Complete an Initial Advising Meeting (D1) with Mrs. Julie Hahn, our dedicated EFSC advisor at CBHS. Initial Advising meetings are done online Zoom. Mrs. Hahn will be at CBHS in building 2-220 on 02/11, 02/25, 03/11, 04/01, 04/15, 04/29 for your support.
